Using DNA to Search for His Father

Find Your Ancestors In History

Most of us know who our parents are so our research focus is usually beyond them.  I started with a grandfather I never new, and after some difficult obstacles, my picture of this man slowly came into focus.  It was a picture that wasn't anywhere near my fantasy, but my goal was to find out who this guy was warts and all.  This story has a similar thread except that Martin Marshall is looking for his father.  He also discovered that his mother maybe wasn't completely honest with him as she told him stories while he was growing up.  Besides the emotional impact of all of this on Martin, an interesting element of this tale are the methods he used in his quest - traditional genealogy combined with DNA testing.  Like most genealogy research, this story, and the methods used, are almost like a detective trying to solve a crime.  Unfortunately he still hasn't discovered who his father was, but the quest is very compelling.

I have a similar story of finding my biological family through DNA testing. It would make a great story for Genealogy Reviews. Please see my web site at http://www.dna-testing-adviser.com for the complete story.
