I thought I'd begin the celebration of everything Irish a little early. Here is a link to the Saint Patrick page in Wikipedia. This is actually a very good history of the most famous Irishman...who was not
really Irish. My plan for the month of March (unless I get overcome by my real life) is to explore Irish genealogy resources and news on the web. I will also sprinkle in articles in celebration of Women's History Month. I didn't even know I was of Irish descent until a couple of years ago when I discovered that my great-great grandfather immigrated from Dublin, Ireland to Canada with his parents and brothers in the early 1830's. I also discovered that both parents of his Canadian born wife (my great great grandmother) were Irish by birth, so one complete line of my family leads directly to the Emerald Isle. Since I've been concentrating on my Italian ancestors, I have not spent much time on my Irish side and am excited to explore this area.
